According to John Rivera, Chief of County Court at the Public Defender's Office of Palm Beach County, I hold the record for the most DUI jury trials in one year, 2002, in the history of the Palm Beach Public Defender's Office. Every year I attend the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers conference on DUI to keep up to date on ever-changing DUI laws.

Jury Trial experience (50 plus counting). I try jury trials unlike many lawyers. I don't charge extra for going to trial. The prosecutors know which lawyers are afraid of going to trial. They also know which lawyers are going to fight for their clients and make them work. There is an incentive for the prosecutor to make a better plea offer if the prosecutor knows the lawyer likes going to trial.

Investigation
The difference many times between getting cases thrown out or not is through investigation. My investigator takes pictures of the crime scene and conducts background investigations on the witnesses, cops, etc. Also, my investigator pulls the internal affairs of the officers to see if they've had complaints in the past. If you do end up taking a plea, you can rest assured that no stone was left unturned and there was no legal technicality on which you could get off. Thorough investigation by my experienced investigator can make the difference between getting your charges dropped.
