An ill advised guilty plea on a DUI charge can result in a timely and costly sentence which may include jail, fines, community service, alcohol treatment, probation, and other sanctions:
- Double or even quadruple insurance rates for a period from 3-6 years.
- 3-18 month suspension of driving privileges
- $200 Driver License Re-instatement fee
- ·DUI Vehicle Impound Fee of $200.00 and towing fees
- Mandatory
jail and/or community service and fine 1st Offense, Class B Misdemeanor
- Minimum 2 days in jail, Maximum 180 days in jail and/or 24 hours of community service
- Fine and surcharge up to $1,850.00 (minimum of $700.00)
2nd Offense within 10 years, Class B Misdemeanor
- Minimum 10 days in jail, Maximum 180 days in jail and/or 240 hours of community service
- Fine and surcharge up to $1,850.00 (minimum of $800.00)
3rd Offense within 10 years, 3rd Degree Felony
- Minimum 60 days in jail, Maximum 0-5 years in prison
- No community service in lieu of jail term allowed
- Fine and surcharge up to $5,000.00 (minimum of $1,500.00)
- Alcohol Counseling and Treatment
- Ignition Interlock Device
- Supervised probation for up to 3 years
- Attorney's fees
- Black mark on your driving record for 6+ years
- Alternative Transportation
- Public embarrassment and stigma of DUI offense
